A Humane Heart - Some people are the voice for the voiceless. For over thirty years Gertrude Maxwell has been one of the most outspoken defenders of unwanted and homeless pet animals. Since she started Save-a-Pet in 1972 her organization has saved more than 70,000 animals from being euthanized. Today even in her late senior years Gertrude works diligently to see that dogs and cats find good homes.
